Intermodal transportation is the method by which a cargo is carried to more than one point by more than one mode of transport without carrying out any procedures on the cargo while the modes of transport are changed. In the intermodal transportation, use is made of special trailers which enable the products to directly pass from one mode of transport to another one without taking them out of the trailer.
